New Digital Learning Tools Introduced via Profuturo Project at Gonzaga

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania – February 26, 2025

Gonzaga Preparatory and Primary School has taken a significant step forward in modern education by integrating innovative digital learning tools and resources through the Profuturo Project. This initiative aims to enhance the learning experience and digital skills of both students and teachers, preparing them for the demands of the 21st-century education landscape.

The Profuturo Project, a global initiative led by Telefónica Foundation and la Caixa Foundation, focuses on narrowing the educational gap by equipping schools in underserved areas with state-of-the-art technology-driven learning solutions. At Gonzaga, the implementation of this project has introduced interactive digital classrooms, e-learning platforms, and teacher training programs, fostering a more engaging and effective approach to education.

Through this initiative, students now have access to digital tablets, interactive whiteboards, and online educational resources, significantly enriching their learning process. The introduction of adaptive learning technologies also allows for personalized instruction, ensuring that students progress at their own pace while improving comprehension and retention.

Teachers at Gonzaga have undergone specialized training workshops to effectively integrate these new digital tools into their teaching methodologies. The training includes leveraging data analytics to monitor student performance, using digital content for lesson planning, and implementing blended learning approaches that combine traditional and digital teaching methods.

School Director Scholastic Humphrey Maganga, S.J., expressed his enthusiasm for this development, stating, “The Profuturo Project has transformed the way we approach education at Gonzaga. By embracing digital learning, we are empowering both our teachers and students with the skills needed for the future.”

Parents and students have also welcomed the new tools, recognizing the benefits of technology-enhanced learning, including improved engagement, collaboration, and access to a wealth of educational materials beyond the classroom.

As Gonzaga continues to innovate in education, the school remains committed to providing quality Jesuit education that incorporates modern technology, ensuring that students are well-equipped for future academic and professional success. The Profuturo Project stands as a testament to Gonzaga’s dedication to bridging the digital divide and fostering a culture of excellence in education.
